Oil Cooler Mounting

Hi Guys, I'm getting ready to mount my oil cooler on my Model 4 Round Cowl 912 and am looking for a little guidance...B

Hi Cain,
On my IV I first mounted the cooler under the gear box. It was not in direct
Air flow propwash. It worked ok,but on hot days and long climbs my oil temp
Would slowly climb until I backed off.
The second mount moved the cooler above the gearbox (I don’t have the stock
Air cleaner carb heat box) Now I can climb as long as I want and my water temp
And oil are great some would say to cool. I will try to post a few photos soon

You re responding to a post from 2011, the OP sold that plane some years ago. Seems like you might have good info for Hockystud though

I bought the brackets from kit fox and they don't seem to fit in my round cowel model 4. I may have to go with mounting in front of the radiator.

Most Round cowls needs to be modified to let the oil cooler fit. There are pictures here of cut cowls
