Hi, the 6 was improved, modified and became the model 7. It evolved I guess!

Simple as that. And the 7 evolved into the 7 Super Sport. All the great features of the model 6 and more. Not for sure how many were made.It evolved I guess!

I bought my kit back in 2000 and no, sadly it is still not done. At first it was because I had no place to build it and now, with it so close to being done, it is a money thing. My planes' serial number is 042 if that gives you an idea of the number of 6s out there. Keep in mind that this was also the time period that Skystar was having financial trouble. Thank goodness John and Debra had enough faith and fore-site in the Kitfox to continue on their own with a fantastic new company. May the McBeans and the Kitfox live for a very long time.
Our EAA 103 group bought 13 Kitfox Series 6 planes in November of 2001.
They were serial numbers from 066 to 078. It wasn't long after our purchase that Skystar introduced the Series 7 version and we converted everyone of those 13 planes to the series 7 version. All but two of those planes kept the original serial number that was issued as a Series 6. Two of those 13 planes, mine and one other went back to Skystar to be modified with the 7a (extended baggage compartment and outside access door) option and were issued new Series 7 serial numbers.
So it would be my unofficial guess that there were probably a total of about 60 to 70 actual Series 6 Kits produced.
Ours is a 6 and love it...
