I have the wings in Poly Spray ready for final paint, I will be using Ranthane, I have not made the cutouts for the fuel drains yet as I was told somewhere to leave them till after painting and use a sharp exacto knife to cut the holes out. The Fuselage is in the spray booth and will not come out until it is painted, I need to temporally fit the landing gear to determine the location of the brake lines so I can fit the grommets for these lines will route through, I am considering making all the cutouts for landing gear bolts, aerials and the wing fuel drains now as it would be easier to burn the holes with a hot pin now before painting and have a painted edge rather than cut them out later after painting. Is there any downside to doing it this way?
