    G'day Mike,

That panel certainly does look very nicely planned out and executed and I'm sure it'll be a pleasure to fly behind.

Can I ask where you got your switches and what model/type they are. I much prefer those to the 'normal' toggle switches and like the way you've incorporated them into the panel. I am quite willing to steal the idea of anybody who comes up with a design like yours

    Hi Paul,
Believe it or not, they are the Tyco W31 series breaker switches.....only flush mounted..... I laid out the hole pattern I wanted on the instrument panel. I then bent a piece of 0.063 aluminum 90 degrees to make a doubler for the bottom if the IP. I clamped and match drilled through both pieces. I then installed the switches with nuts to the doubler behind the IP and bolted this assembly to the lower lip of the IP. Hopefully you can see it in the attached photo, it was rather simple to do.

Thank you for the reply, Mike and what a great idea. The toggle switches look great and you've got a combined switch and CB, so don't have to have so many 'normal' round ones popping through the panel (excuse the very poor pun). I love some of the imagination and ingenuity that's shown by guys like you

Yep, those latest photos make it very clear what you did and cleared up the question in my mind of how you secured the switches to the aluminium frame. I am considering the RockRack switches but if they prove to be a no-go then I will blatantly plagiarise your idea

Panel coming together. Still missing the iPad mount. Messed up some of the labelling and have to redo it. The registration wasn’t supposed to be that big!

I'm curious Carl, what is the point of taking up panel space for an iPad? Surely your Garmin screen has anything the iPad has plus more, and it is fully aircraft quality and easily read in bright sunlight. If the iPad is just a backup, why not keep it in the baggage compartment and use that panel space for a nice glovebox.
