Funny, I ordered 2" black heat shrink about 10 minutes ago from Amazon.

I used 1'' heat shrink on my control sticks. They came out good I thought. I'd say 1 1/4 might be easier to make the bends but more to shrink up also.

I dont have the control stick tube yet, just the ptt and grips. This is as far as I can get it in easily. Without sanding or filing.

I had to sand down the connector, the clip part

See if it will install without the wiring first to see if thats your problem
