Default Urgent help! Road Transport bars for MK2

    Hi Chaps

I've just shaken hands on the purchase of a MK2.

I'm due to collect it on a trailer on saturday the 15th, 12 days time!

It doesn't come with the support bars to brace the spars to the undercarriage tags.

Does anybody have a decent drawing of them so I can make some before collection,

    OR

Any UK owners got a pair I can borrow?

Failing that, Internal dimensions of the spar so I can at least go with something that will slip into the spar and cobble up a bar on site.

    cheers Smiffy

You could use some thin walled 3/4" electrical conduit. Flatten one end, and bolt it to the bottom of the spar with a bend where the flattened part begins to round out. Then flatten the other end where it will bolt onto the lift strut bracket at the bottom. Probably two 4' long pieces will be long enough. Or bring a 10' length and a hacksaw. JImChuk
