    Default Fuselage Reinforcement Opinions Needed

I am using the very front and the third one back attach points (The one in front of the lift strut) with cub style gear. Do you guys think I should reinforce the fuselage ladder all of the way to the front or is this good enough?8BFBE698-9F8D-4EB2-AC1B-596567B2DBFA.jpg

    Branden,
I guess my question would be what type flying are you planning. Will it be primitive sites typically described as Bush Flying. My experience with the cabane gear - two instances - is that the gear is typically pretty robust and the vulnerability is in the airframe with a hard landing. I think that is your thought as well, given your efforts. Then again, much easier to add some additional support forward of where you are now than after covering.

Well thats what I am preparing for. I would rather beef it up now based on all of the bent tubing I have seen on this site. I just thought taking the bracing all of the way forward would be excessive(unnecessary weight). Just not sure if the front area will take a lot of the stresses or not.

I should have thought of this yesterday. Most of the excessive forces are transferred.to the fuselage through the cabane where the springs or bungees are. That would seem to encourage the reinforcements at that point as well. It looks like your existing reinforcements would be perfect.of the gear attached to 2 and 3.

    Bluebird.
Your very close to me. I’m in Angola,do you need any rotating fixtures for
Wings or fuselage? PM me I might be able to hook you up.. Ps.
I also have weld fixtures for cabane style gear.
