I have one more photo of Escalante Canyon I must post.
This is Fairlyland Point - an overlook close to the restaurant.

OK - After lunch - and a nap - Kathy and I were off to
explore Glenn Canyon Dam. This sucker is one huge
chunk of concrete. Ok - I know it was made from thousands
of individual pours, but the first time you see
it, it will take your breath away.

We drove over this bridge to get to the Visitor
Center.

They have tours down inside the dam. From
the Visitor Center an elevator takes you to
the roadway on top of the dam - then
another elevator takes you down to the power
house level - at the base of the dam.
We took our kids there many years ago and
the tour was self-guided. No restrictions.
Well 9/11 happened - now you must get reservations
for the tour: there were none available on the day
we were there - so be forwarned. If you are coming
in 2017 and want the full tour, make sure you call the
park service and get your name on the list.

Up early again the next day to launch for Bryce Canyon.

Having a great time. Kathy is loving
flying in the Kitfox and seeing all the
beautiful formations in the earth. Stuff
you can't see at 40K ft.
Thank you Kitfox for such an awesome
airplane.
