    has anyone done this?

    the fine filter ( small brass ) has an O ring on one end Why?

    no detail in my service kit

    Yes. I mounted most of the unit on the fire wall angle on the left side. Because I have a gascolator the incoming fuel line first goes to the gascolator, then to the course filter (pic shows arrangement) then to fuel pump, then to machined block, then to fine filter, then to fuel rail. The assembled unit with machined block, fine filter, check valve, al tube, and fuel pressure sender can be removed as a unit for replacement of filter. I don't know what the "O" ring on check valve is for except to orientate properly for direction of fuel flow. Can't find pics of main unit mounting. Can take so if you need more info. The brass unit is the check valve. The large Al can is the fine filter.
