I'd like to build maybe a 1/6 scale KF. Has anyone done it? Any plans out there? Ken

I was even thinking of making the wings fold and a miniature trailer to be pulled by a rc truck.

I have made a few attempts at some small scale replicas of my Series 5 Outback, and while I am happy how they turned out, I realized that flying them was not feasible primarily due to final weight. When scaling down to the small sizes that I built , the Aerodynamics change and even though , I upsized the empennage and wing they did not want to fly. I went all electric for the motors, they sure taxi nice and make nice shelf displays. The first photo is the real thing and the others are the models. I am currently working on the third one that I think will be the one that finally flies.

That is a cool looking model! Just not enough power with the electric motor? I think if you would get rid of that full IFR panel you could lose a lot of weight!

The closest I have got is a Parkzone Sport Cub that we are building articulated bush gear for. All electric, 54" wing w/ separate flaps and ailerons.

I have recently been searching for a quality RC KitFox. The good news is I have found one and purchased what is called a short kit The vendor actually has three sizes, 1/4 scale 1/3 and 50% of full size. I have the 1/3 (10.66 foot wing span) ordered. A short kit has all of the specialty items, wing ribs formers, firewall, sides, all laser cut. Cowl is included landing gear is available. I chose to have one made of aluminum in the US. The stock items, balsa wood etc. are available at Hobby shops or on line. The short kit cost me USD $373.14. Shipped to Texas. This is a fair price.

This model was designed in South Africa and the kit is produced in Holland.
I need to explain that this is quite a project and not suitable for an inexperienced modeler. I should have the kit in about 10 days,He has them in stock. If there is any interest please post or e mail me.
