    Default Rotax Serial Number B780?

    Folks,
I just purchased a Kitfox IV with a 80HP Rotax. Looks like the serial number is B780? Does that sound right? I thought they all had 7 digit numbers. This engine was new somewhere around 1992, I think.
I want to learn all I can about it. Any ADs, recommended TBOs, maintenance, etc.
Is that a valid serial number?
Where can I find information on it, how to care and feed it properly?

    Thank you!

    Hey Bob,

It should be a 7 digit number - no letters and there should be a metal tag on the upper, left, rear of the crankcase (above plastic the magneto cover).

If the tag has been removed, next best bet is check the engine log - should have been entered there by the builder.

Google up Rotax Owner or ROAN - the engine manufacturer lists all service bulletins, etc for their engines.
