    Default Lift strut threds

The lift strut threads are covered with powder coating so threading in the rod end is almost impossible, there are different type threads, cut and rolled. What is the proper way to remove the powder coating from the threads?

    Jim,

Cleaning up internal threads is a common operation due to paint, crud, powder coating.......get a tap of the same diameter & thread as the rod end (a standard tap, not a bottoming tap)... ...Carefully get the tap started so cross threading does not occur - easy peasy....
