Default Changing from rotax to o-235

I am tired of looking for a deal on a 100 hp rotax. I have my cowl and engine mount on for the 912. What is involved in changing over to the o-235.

Have you considered an 80hp 912UL then adding a Zipper conversion?

I would wait, the 0-235 is a lot heavier which will reduce your range or payload considerably. Tom

I think to get a FWF set up with new cowls for the 0-235 would be in the $4000 range

I drove from va to key west Florida for a engine that had on 283 hrs. When I got there, I could have beat the guy up. He was an attorney that had inked the books. Seven years, not one annual, no inspection records, log book did not match engine log and prop was sent out for reprinting but he said there was no paper work. I was buying the plane for the engine. Well, after 15 minutes, I left with no engine. I sold my rv6a last year and started on my rv9a kit. My kf has everything done except engine , I have a panel done for a rotax with dynon set up.

    Not on topic but relevant.

Within the last couple of weeks I saw a 912, I think UL, with 1000 hours for sale. If memory serves, it was on Barnstormers. The engine was purported to be a early government model. It may be bad information but I think Rotax engines have been used on UAVs. If that is correct, I would think there should be some available through the surplus auctions.
