    Default run with no prop

I recently saw a video of a 912 UL running on a stand with no prop. Has anyone done that, will it hurt the engine? The engine ran at low rpm. I am getting the itch to run mine, though not ready to fly for some time.

Yes. The motor will run without a prop. You must be very cautious because over reving happens very, very quickly with the resultant damage usually catastrophic.

I've done it a couple times now with my 912uls. The gearbox will impart some drag on the drive line but judicious application of throttle is required.
