    Default Subaru EA81 throttle setup

Hey everyone. I picked up an Avid MK4 with a new subaru ea81 that the owner couldn't get running properly. Long story short the carbs were a disaster and the throttle wasn't proper for synchronizing. The stock single cable throttle was being used. So disconnected synched them and runs beautifully. So my question is which throttle setup would work best in the same under panel location? I'm stuck between these two.

    Hi,

I think most 912 users use the upper link Rotax dual throttle cable or something similar .

Ok now I'm wondering how well it'd work because it currently has the throttle mount under the dash and it runs on a downward angle towards the firewall running parallel with the center dash support tube framing).

I have a Type III with that same engine, but the builder installed a single Ford carburetor #CGTF-F and it runs just fine.

Do the dual throttle cable assemblies come in a Vernier style?

I believe the Rotax spit system comes in a Vernier style also.

Would anyone know if the Rotax split system conuit is capable of being slightly bent so that its not interfering with a frame tube? Otherwise I may need to redo my dash and mount the throttle higher up.

2 years ago I searched for a split vernier type throttle cable for my SS7 and couldn't find anything. Was told they used to be available but not any more. That doesn't mean they don't exist; my searching skills may have not been the best.

They can be bought at Mcfarlane directly or at Aircraft Spruce.
