Default What Fuel Tank Coatings are working.

I have a series 5 vixen 1200 short wing that has a tan colored coating in the fuel tank that is starting to come loose in the corners.Does anyone know what coating this might be ? I have read older posts about the Hirsch coating and was wanting to know if anyone has it in their tanks. Is it holding up and how long has it been coated with it? Or is there something better to use. Thanks.

Randy- you likely have fuel tanks that were coated inside with a product know in the Kitfox world as Kreem. The symptoms you describe are common. There has been lots of threads and posts on this forum about this subject.

Try a search using "Kreem" or "fuel tanks", "alcohol" or maybe "sloshing" and I'm sure you will find much good discussion on causes and remedies. Good luck.
