I hear ya! Still sounds very cheap for that size bronze sheet. Is it cast or extruded? If you are doing shaping or forming (turtledeck), you might want to go with extruded. Post the specs or the links to them - I'm curious as to how theirs is about a 1/3rd the price of what I'm used to seeing.

    Color_______Solar Energy___Visible Light
    Colorless_______85%___________92%
    Gray 2064______36%___________25%
    Gray 2074______24%___________13%
    Bronze 2404____56%___________49%
    Bronze 2412____35%___________25%
    Bronze 2370____20%___________11%

reading this chart using clear for color,..85% uv penetrates clear,..92% 0f the light from the sun penetrates the lexan so clear is only 15% UV blockage
Bronze 2412 is 65% UV blockage because only 35% penetrates

There may be some correlation between solar energy and UV transmittance, but that's not what the measurement is. Solar energy %, is measuring heat transfer through the material. Clear - 85% of the heat transfers through and 2412 only 35% through.

Although, bronze 2412 only lets 25% of the light through - visible light measured at 6500 deg. Kelvin (normal daylight). So it's pretty dark. Might try getting a small piece of film with the same light transmittance (sample from car shop) and seeing if you really want it that dark.

Also, be aware the spec numbers (2000 series) you've given usually refer to plexiglass - in this case Acrylite, not polycarbonate - Lexan. Bronze Lexan usually uses 5000 series numbers. Might be why it is much less expensive than I would expect. Worth looking into/verifying.

Your thickness range is about right, some acrylics (depending on which one you actually end up using) have a bending radius of 100 times their thickness.

the colors are examples.I have a piece of the lexan bronze here at home but not big enough to use on anything,..it is the same shade as the 2412,..the other examples are not from the same vendor,..but only examples to give an idea of advantage or disadvantage of using tinted lexan
