Default Great Salt Lake North Shore

I thought your eyes might need some flying adventure photos to gaze at so I flew to one of the remote airstrips on the north shore of the Salt Lake, UT today. The strip is a little rutted but landable:

    Hey Sky Pirate,
You DID notice those! Ha! I hit them on take off. By the way, what are you doing up at this time of night? Don't you have an appointment with a coffee cup in a few hours?

    DF4,
There was a large hole in the runway that you can't see in the photo, so I couldn't use about 1/3 of the strip. Road apples are now road apple pie.

Here's the vid if you want to fly along:

If you act quickly before the data expires, you can also click on the "SkySteve's Spotpage" below my signature line to see the flight path. Isn't all this technology neat?

Steve, Can't tell from the pics, have you moved the camera to the lift strut on the left side? If not, what filter are you using to get rid of the prop stobe effect? Nice video and pics by the way!!

    Thanks,

    Dick B

Yes Dick. I've moved my camera from the Jury strut of the left wing to about 8-10 inches from the upper main strut attach point of the left wing. That puts it far enough away from the propeller so it is not in the camera view. I found that having the camera up high under the wing also does a better job of shading the camera from the sun. No filter. The camera is a Contour, one of the first to come out with a useable wing mounted camera. I think they are out if business now thanks to the advancements of GoPro.

Thanks for the fly along Steve. Camera mount position is good for afore mentioned reasons (Prop, Shading). Though, I did kinda feel like a "Rocket Pod" hanging way out there! May be fun to do though...like the old Wing Walkers (Hangers).

Looking at the Model 5 or newer for size!
