    Default Grove wheel options

Hey all, thanks for answering my wing pin question so quickly. I do have another question though. Is it possible to mount the 8" atv wheels on my grove gear? I swear I have seen a picture of this done before here on team kitfox. I'm looking to run the 21" Nanco's.

Yes you can mount the ATV axles/wheels. (use Grove axles # 5011). Call the people at Grove... they are very helpful.

    Cheers,

my model IV originally had the atv wheels and a previous owner had installed matco wheels and brakes . they use spacers on the long atv axles to allow the use of the narrower matco wheels .

Thank you for the link, I was looking all over for something like that.

I just took a look at a set of OE bungee gear I got for free and they just so happen to have the Cleveland ATV wheels!

So just to confirm my suspicions since I cannot look at this stuff in person right now.

Changing back to the ATV wheels requires the Matco Brake assemblies and of course the Axle Adapter for the Grove Gear.

Why are you swapping to 8" wheels?

It was only going to be temporary. I installed a new 72" prop and I only have 2 to 4inches of clearance from the tips to the ground with the grove gear and 600x6 tires.

I thought I could throw some cheap Nanco's on there to fix the issue but I think I'm going to sell my bungee gear, atv wheels and matco breaks and just buy the right tires for my 6" grove wheels.

Anybody want a set of pristine kitfox iv landing gear? Minus bungees

If you end up going with the 8" wheels on the grove gear I have a set of 3/4" axles for grove gear with no plans to use them. They were on a model 2 for about 15 hours. If interested let me know. By the way I've had very good luck with the "cheap" nanco tires but I'm guessing they would wear fast on asphalt.

We have a runway 24 left and runway 24 right. 24 left is a short unofficial grass strip. I try to avoid asphalt. Grass just seems fun, rocks are funner
