    Default Prop Pitch

Hey Folks, I have a Whirlwind ground adjustable three blade on my SS with a 912ULS. Initial setting was 17 degrees as suggested by the factory, but this gives over 6000RPM at wide open throttle on the ground. Does anyone else run this prop/engine combination and if so what degree of pitch are you using? Thanks for any info.

I also have whirlwind prop on 912 ULS. 17 degrees is too flat. If I remember right I ended up at 20 degrees. John McBean told me it should turn 5150 rpm standing still at full throttle

Hi, with the 912 ULS your prop should be pitched to get 5100- 5200 static rpm to get decent overall performance. You can then adjust to your needs, if you like more climb or cruise.
