    Default 582 Idle jets

Has anybody else went with a smaller idle jet in the Rotax 582 with the Bing 54 carb. Looks like it comes stock with the #55 but is running rich so the air screw doesn't do anything. I read a couple of posts to change to a #45 idle jet and it smooths the idle out nice and smooth. Anybody else got any experience with this.

I switched from #55 to #45 last year. Engine seems to start better and idles much smoother. Its easy and inexpensive. Give it a try you will be glad you did.

I'm running a #45 also. I've got a clutch installed so it doesn't need much gas at idle to keep it ticking.

Got my #45 Idle Jets installed last week. Sweet Ride! Made a big difference, even good at 2000 rpms. I also balanced the prop. Between doing the two, this bird went from Shake to Steak. Thanks for all the great advice.
