    Default Tailwheel springs

    I have a 2 leaf. Should I consider a 3 leaf? $100 is easy compared to a rudder repair....

I would put in the 3 leaf. My 2 leaf broke at around 600 hours and around 600 landings. Luckily broke at home airport. I replaced with 3 leaf.

Is it ok to powder coat the tailwheel springs? Will the Powder coat flex enough?

    Thanks

I doubt it Scott. Why would you want to powder coat something that close to the gravel, etc. ? You have the aluminum single leaf; the 3 leaf steel spring would be even less likely to handle the flex with powder coat in my opinion.

Three leaf spring is great! Noticeable difference coming from the 2 leaf. Installed with the maul 6" solid TW.

I used a product called POR-15, which seems like a bad infomercial on TV...

However it works great on the steel 3 leaf springs.
