    Default Inspection on Saturday

Saturday is the big day. I'm ready for it and so is the airplane.

At the urging of some friends and family I have revamped my blog so they can follow the progress of my summer travels. I think they just want to know when I'll be in their area so they can run and hide.

I have four more weeks at my job and then I can hopefully get the 40 hours flown off by June. If you have been through this already I am curious to know how long it takes to complete phase one. I won't be working so flying will be the number one priority. Hopefully I won't have any issues, nothing is really out of the ordinary.

Congrats Hank. Here's hoping for an uneventful phase 1.

I am curious to know how long it takes to complete phase one.
Hank- I just pulled my log book on phase 1 and here are the details.
My first flight was Oct. 4,2003 and I had all 40 hours plus 1.4 flown off by
Oct. 10th. You may want to spread it out over a little longer period.

    Oct. 4th- 10.1 hours
    Oct. 5th- 3.7
    Oct. 6th- 3.0
    Oct. 7th- 2.3
    Oct. 8th- 9.1
    Oct. 9th- 8.9
    Oct.10th- 4.3
    -----------------------------------
Total days-7. Hours flown 41.4 Out of phase 1 on Oct. 10th and into phase 2 ever since.

Time to fly off the 40? Probably lot less time in Texas and Arizona than in the winter Minnesnowta

.....Dodging 20 below zero days, 25 knot wind days and snowstorms I think I spent 5 weeks beginning to end. Most of the flights were 1-3 hr duration 2 or 3 times on the good days...although loading tests were a whole bunch of short flights over the day....depends...but it is all fun and interesting.

I was thinking that I got after it pretty good when I completed mine in less than 3 weeks. But you sir really got after it! Wow.

I was motivated. Our Desert Fox Squadron was having its annual fly-in that weekend and also the CopperState fly-in was the same weekend.
I got my 40 plus hours flown off just in time to be # 20 of a 20 Kitfox flight from DFS headquarters to CopperState. I actually flew off my last remaining hours during the DFS fly-in at Thunder Ridge Airpark, which was in my FAA allowed flight area, just before the large gaggle left for CopperState. It was a very busy week and the weather was perfect so it worked out fine.
CopperState Arrival shut down the field for our "mass arrival" of 20 Kitfoxs. Very memorable event filled weekend. Wouldn't want to do it again though. I was much younger then.
