    Default 17mm Coolant Hose

I was wondering if anyone has used the hose from http://www.roosemotorsportusa.com as a replacement for the 17mm coolant hose on Rotax 912's. They list a 11/16" size which I believe equals 17.4mm for about half the price of what I have seen for the coolant hose at CPS, Lockwood, & LEAF? I believe they have free shipping as well. I would appreciate any and all opinions. Thanks, Paul Perry

How do silicone hoses hold up to grease/oil? Stuff up there gets oily sometimes.

The silicone hose in question is not suitable for oil or fuel, but my engine is pretty dry and I wouldn't think that it would come in contact with very much oil and not for any length of time. Thanks for the reply and question, though, and would like to hear from others before I decide to buy or not.

Curious if anyone has used these silicone hoses? They have straight in both 1" and either 5/8" or 11/16" i.d. plus a 5/8" 90*degree with 4" legs that would work for the one rear cylinder the straight can't do. Would be pretty to do in blue.

I just replaced all hoses on my 912ul. I looked at ALL other types of replacement hoses. In the end, I went with the Rotax 17mm coolant hose. The clincher was the flexibility. It is much easier to use and is the correct size. It's oil resistant, clamps well and offers the piece of mind knowing you put the right part on your airplane. Big bucks, yes, but it's only every five years. However, the 1 inch hose was a pleasure to buy from Autozone!!!

Russ, I made the same decision for the same reasons, especially since I didn't have anyone respond that encouraged trying the silicone hose I originally asked about.
