turtle deck install
I am in the process of installing the turtle deck on my ss. I have the all lexan t/deck. Does it lap over the fuse at sides and back, or does it have to be trimmed?

Re: turtle deck install
On my SS it was long on the sides and back and required trimming. I cut mine to overlap approximately 5/8 inch, and installed a foam gasket on the sides and back to help seal out airflow.

Re: turtle deck install
Hi all
I am thinking about hinging my lexan turtledeck. What is the neatest way of cutting the material??
Thanks

Re: turtle deck install
If you have access to a shear that would be best, otherwise I used a die grinder with cutoff wheel and/or a belt sander. Just be sure to smooth all the edges.

Re: turtle deck install
I used a Dremel and it works great if you go slow. If you get in a hurry the acrylic will heat up. I clamped a piece of aluminum to keep my cuts straight and used sandpaper to further smooth it out. I used soft u-channel for a nice finished look. It also makes a tight seal and protects where acrylic contacts paint and fabric. James Thomas
