    Default Part 23 Certification

I have read that the KF Model 5 was at some point being planned to be built as a Part 23 Certified aircraft, pre-lightsport days. Does anyone out there know how close they got to certifying it?

Don't know the answer to the how close part of the question, but Yes, plans were in place to certify the design. I have seen the fixtures for welding up the fuselage and the structure was much sturdier than what was used with the earlier models. This resulted in more consistently accurate fuselage weldments. It was an aborted effort that is still paying dividents in the later models.
