    Default o-200 prop extension

i've seen that when installing the o-200 on the ss7, a 4" prop extension is being used. why is this? is it to give the cylinders more clearance under the cowling?

If the prop is from a cessna 150, it is probably the extension that comes standard with the prop.

tommy, please excuse my confusion; you said that the cowling was in front of and around the mock-ups wooden disk. but your photo shows the cowling aft of the disk.
    thanks, ken

I have a 0-200 in my series 5. My cowl looks like the one in Tommys picture. If it didn't have the extension the prop would be inside the cowling.

    Sorry Ken, I mispoke....
The cowl fits inside the template. I did that in May, and this is August....
I will get more info on the spacer.... I've had 3 grandsons for The last several days.... Wife is going to PHX tomorrow. And I will have more time.
