Great photos Scott. Beautiful scenery. Rugged and gorgeous, just like your Kitfox.

I will be 7 Super Sport building tomorrow. Thanks for the boost.

Here is some photos of my latest Kitfox iv 1200
A few of us headed down south of the South Island. JFA was on a shake down flight and went well. 11 1/2 hours flying time.
The photos are the Poolburn Reservoir (3000 feet ASL)
The next one is at the home of the Croyden Aircraft Company. Well known for restoring de Havilland, including a comet racer.
A random farmers paddock for coffee
the last one is looking along the Otago Peninsula and Port Chalmers
We had 3 days of perfect flying weather. We are coming into winter and looking forward to some more settled weather

Looks beautiful, it's a shame our planes will likely never get the chance to fly over New Zealand's beautiful landscapes.

    Hi Dusty
My daughter was living at Waihi Beach and I got to know quite a few of the Sport Aviation community there. Flew around the North Island with Bob Byal and Murray Foster. Absolutely beautiful country to fly in. You guys are "spoiled rotten" over there!!

    Dusty,
One of my favorite places ever. Back when we visited, it was in my sailing days and was to visit a friend that helped us crew a very high tech racing sailboat on a pacific crossing. We stayed in his home in Lyttelton We saw the ball drop at the time ball station then walked to the site for a up close look. Our visit was during the era of the "Wizard of Christchurch". I could go on and on, but the visit is a treasured memory. To see it as you see it would be a dream. My friend, Geoff, now lives in Christchurch. Thanks for the pictures.

Dusty I see 912 on the side of your plane and you have the same large tires I will be using. Curious about your performance numbers. Cruise takeoff distance and so on.

    Hi Norm
I havnt measured takeoff or landing distance as i feel the cg is a bit far forward and i am running out of elevator on landing.
Cruise at 5300 is around 80 kts using 16 litres per hr
The engine is a80hp with a3 blade ivo ifa
By adding the bush gear pod and tyres i lost around 5 kts
There is still a lot of sorting to do starting with a weight balance but the engine is now running well so i can now move on

Well I woke up this morning and thought it was time to go for a fly. My pilot buddy Adam decided to jump in with me. We were going to go to Ram Falls but the 7500' DA was obviously too much for the Cherokee. Went out to a couple buddies places, gave some rides, and tore up the river valley. Forgot to take pictures of most of the day but got a couple.
