Thanks I always wanted a yellow Bird. It seemed like all my planes have been Red in the past and this one started life Red as well. I built it to take my grandkids flying (which I have not done yet) and the Granddaughters had a say in the colors. The 11 year old favourite color is purple and the 8 year old likes the Aqua color. When I put the color chip to the yellow I liked the contrast and decided to use it as trim colors. My Kitfox is still a work in progress. I have the new clear turtle deck cut and ready to put on but my camlocks are too short. That is why you can still see some red on the turtle deck. I also have 4 lbs of weight hanging on the outside of the tail. I am considering moving the battery to the back. The new tundra Maule tail wheel added about six pounds and greatly improved ride. Handling is a little twitchier. I am not quite happy with the stipes on the tail and may rework that a bit bringing the purple a little higher to the top of the rudder. Lots of fun doing things that are just a bit different and personal.

I just noticed your colour is similar to Kitfox Jim's plane (second plane to take off in the video). Maybe that is the KitFox you were refering to when you said great colour scheme. I believe Jim had similar family input on his colour.

    Default Lake Hume, Australia

    Hi all,

Let me get in first and wish you all a great christmas and new year! Of course, we down under are into summer and the mornings are wonderful for flying. Yesterday I headed to Lake Hume that is a short 30 mile flight. The lake is full at the moment after a very wet winter providing
plenty of water for irrigating downstream and a wonderful summer playground for holiday makers. A friend has just put in a 400m grass strip on the edge so expect some pics of that soon too! Although summer here, it was 10'c OAT so lovely flying.

All the best for the coming festive season and great flying to you all!

    cheers

    Thanks for the wishes, Ross!
We are experiencing a hell of a drought here, with the temp at around 37 to 39 Deg C the other day!
I went to Addo elephant park a week ago and went through 43 deg Celsius - Ouch!
I have landed on my bush strip that I mentioned I wanted to establish some time ago.
I will post some more pics when I can and try and put in a link to uTube.
Have a very blessed Christmas, All!

Reid, you are right about the drought and heat. I was in Mozambique a month ago and it was at least 38 C every day and very dry. I went there to help inspect a Cessna Caravan. That was my first time in Africa. Hope you get some rain soon. Merry Christmas.
