Another landing clip. I am relatively new to beach landings and certainly no expert, but I have learned to be extremely cautious. It is important to be sure of the how firm the sand is before committing to land. In this case I was lucky to have a mate there on a yacht and he walk the length of the beach and checked it was firm. It is possible to get a good idea of firmness through a touch and go, but beware that conditions are rarely consistent on a beach over the full length. On this video (which is a little blurred) you can see that the right wheel hit some softer sand shortly after touch down and I had to be quick on the rudder to compensate (my fault for touching down 10 m earlier than my mate marked out!). I know this is no different to a lot of off-field landings but I thought it worth noting for those considering beach landings. The sand often looks smooth and even - caution always and 'ground truthing' is a real plus!
That said, beaches are great places to play!
cheers
