    Wow! Thats an eye opener! I wonder it it was a regular Stinson (un metalized) if it would have made a differance. The metalized ones are heavier.

    I remember reading somewhere else, where the actual pilot had commented on the video. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find that thread again (but I'll give another look later tonight).

    If memory serves correctly, the pilot had commented about being near gross weight, not factoring in density altitude, as well as using an inappropriate take-off technique. Airplane was landed at the nearest airport, and there was only minor damage to the gear.

    I could of sworn I saw the thread only in the past few days on another forum.
