    Thanks for the reply. I did know that Avids had a negative flap setting all the way forward that was supposed to give a little better cruise speed. I do know on my first Avid, the plane was squirrely in flight with that setting. I put a stop in so I couldn't accidently go there. I'm guessing this is the same thing. Funny that it isn't in all manuals. Another issue I found was different is in the one manual, you set the bell crank arm at 11.4 degrees, and in the later CD version, it shows 19 or 20 degrees. The later CD version is the manual with the flap spoiler warning in it... Related perhaps??? Here are the drawings from the two different manuals. JImChuk
