3D Prints

Getting close to delivery date for my series 7 STi. Anyone have any useful 3D print files? Anyone have a printable model of the airplane? I’m not talented enough to CAD design one.

I don’t have a 3D model of the Kitfox, but I have used my 3d printer to help with the build.



From left to right:

A bushing to help with sanding elevator hinge bearings.

Jig for holding tail ribs in rear location and perpendicular to square tube.

Jig for holding rudder ribs in location and perpendicular to leading edge tube.

Jig for setting horizontal and elevator ribs.

Tool for inserting bolt in rudder hinge

And tool for holding nut and washer for rudder hinge. This is accomplished with some small rare earth magnets inserted.

All these have been very handy, especially when working alone. None of them took very much time to design, and any excuse to use some 3d modelling software only helps out in the long run.

Of course we’d all like to have access to a laser 3d scanner like Trent, but the reality is that much can be done with cardboard and templates and then over to CAD and onto a printer or other device.
