    Default Cowling Oil Canning

Got my cowling mounted back on the plane and noticed that the lower cowling has quite the oil can symptom going for it. Normal? Need to add a stiffener? Going to hear that the whole time I fly? Link is to a video to see what I mean.

    Thanks ahead of time

I would fly it first; the oil-canning may not occur. You can always stiffen it later if needed.

I hate to sound a little flippant ... but who is going to be poking it with a finger when you are flying?

Thanks Jim. That is the beauty of Experimental eh? That is certainly something I can address after the fact and a good way to look at this.

OMG Chief!!! How Flippant!! It's one of those things that I know is there and will bug me if I fly along and hear it. But as Jim stated, I can wait and see if it does. If it doesn't - no harm - no foul. You going to make the Fly In this year?

Thanks Dustin and the answer to your question is I am not sure. I haven't heard it but admit that when I have been running the engine I have been focused on other things. That will be the question to answer a bit later.

I plan on it, waiting for the location to be announced. I hope it is in Homedale... It makes things easy for me.

Looks like your prayers were answered Ralph. Was chatting with Brandon and he confirmed that this year is at the factory.

Well then Gary, will you be flying over? If so, I would love to see all you have done.

That's the plan right now Ralph. But you and I know that the plan is only good up to but not including the first engagement. Either way it will be good to see you and hear about how your plane is coming on.
