Replacement Windsheild

I have been updating my panel and work behind panel under windshield. Got tired of working under edge of windshield, so took it off. Dumb mistake. When I was putting it back on I cracked it right at spar carry thru. Ordered another one from Kitfox. Over $1100 including around $350 was freight. Kitfox sent me a full page on how to receive shipment and what to do if damaged. Followed to a T. There was puncture from fork lift, so while driver waited I cut open box and no damage. Loaded it up on pick up and strapped down. Left for 50 mile trip to airport. I had delayed trip because of rain. But got caught in a short rain storm. This as well as the box being cut open must have weaken the box. Going down a 4 lane highway at 45 miles mph box lifted up and flew and out in the middle of the road. Packing paper everywhere. There goes $1,100. Managed to get it back on truck, stopped at hardware store and bought several more straps to wrap around box to keep it together. Bottom line unpacked it at airport and not a scratch.
