    Default Model 4 firewall blanket

Model 4 fire wall blanket cover fell apart removing it what are you guys doing to replace them? Just leaving bare aluminum or the fancy heat noise dedining material

I have a never used one if you need another. I just go with a bare SS firewall. JImChuk

I think the firewall should be .020" thick. I got a sheet from the local sheet metal shop real cheap but it was a bit thicker. Figured I added 3/4 of a pound. I'm working on this one now. Another Kitfox 4. The inset box is where the oil tank goes. JImChuk

That’s different than mine, no recess on top half. While you’re working on it tomorrow take a look at the flapperon console tubes that are almost vertical. Right one is straight and about an inch longer than the left, left also has a slight bend to it

My mount is a ring mount. Actually it started life as a model 5 mount. It was reworked to fit the Kitfox 4. Bit of a one of a kind. My firewall is my own design as well. I made the box for the oil tank in my last Kitfox 4 rebuild and like it like that. It allowed me to have the cowl a good bit lower then it would have been if the oil tank attached to the motor mount. This is the firewall for my Kitfox 4 rebuild, it used the regular Kitfox 4 mount that mounts to the engine with 4 arms. Engine does sit closer to the firewall with that one, that's why I had to make a "dent" for the starter. JImChuk
