I have a GSC 3blade on my Model 3.
Curious what the static WOT RPM's should
be for the right pitch? 6200? 6300?
Also, what's the safest way to tie her
down for a static WOT test?
Thanks,
-Wild

I'm at 15 right now. What kind of performance does 19
give you? Where do you tie it off for a static runup?
Brakes won't hold it will it? Will a tailwheel pull itself over
if I just block the tires and hit the prop? I haven't had
the guts to try a WOT on the ground for static so thats
why Im asking first
tie it to a lightpole ..truck..axle shaft driven in the ground ..anything stationary ..from the tail wheel to the object,..don't rely on chok's alone
if your doing this at your own place ,..and have some room ,,take a cement block ..a 3 foot piece of chain and bolt it to the block ..dig a 2 foot hole ..drop the block in and cover it up with chain hanging out ..instant anchor ,..

I cinch a loop around the tail wheel spring and tie the other end to the trailer hitch on my pickup. Hold the stick back or you may still nose over while you're distracted concentrating on the gages.

Static thrust should be between 300 and 350 lbs so that's not a real lot of pull. I always just tie around the tailwheel spring. Take care, Jim Chuk
Thanks everyone! Seems like I should tie down really
low to keep the tail low as possible...
