    Default ABW 26” vs 29”

Just because I got tired of reading 105 threads on tires I thought I cut to the chase. I notice most 5-7 & SS models that run ABW use the 26’s. Curious as to who has 29’s and how they perform.

Using both the 26 and 29 ABI tires this year.
Takes another 150 rpm at cruise to keep 90 with the 29" tire.
Definitely tell the difference in the soft, shorter roll and less grabbed on touch down.
    200 hours on the 29 tire, 80 on 26.
Next time will be 29" for sure.

What's your mission? I use 26" and they work for everything I've done. Not gonna lie, I'd be curious to slap a set of 29's on mine just to see first hand though.

I only want to buy one set (Egad). Don’t want to wish I would have bought 29’s.

If you have a reason to be in Boise come fly mine and you can check out the 26's.

Back in ‘88 I flew a C185 for a charter outfit out of Merrill Field and we had 8.50’s on it and I went everywhere with it. Sand bars, beaches, gravel, power line roads, fields of two foot high grass, glacier tailings and I never worried, so I suppose you can make good with 8.50’s. I like the idea of the softness of low psi for the ABW’s. I think we ran 18 psi in the 8.50 but we had slip marks painted on the rim and tire a were careful with heavy braking.
