Fuel tank outlet point is lower than #1 rib

Wow, I am really wearing out the Teamkitfox think tank here lately.

So installing the fuel tanks.....

I noticed that the "bulging bowel" area on the underside of the tank where the finger strainer and outlet fitting is located, is below the #1 rib. So fabric will contact the tank here and this "bulge" will show through. The top of the tank is perfectly in line with the top of the #1 rib. Is this normal for the fabric to contact the this area? It did not on my KF 4.

If i put a level between #1 and #3 ribs under the fuel tank, the bulge is about 1/4"-3/8" below this plane.

That is how our early S7 came together - same thing. I don't think it even bothers a person visually after covering and painting.

Jerry - I don't remember the bulge in mine to be that pronounced but it was there and after covering and painting it really isn't "noticable". (I know where to look but that is another story.) My bigger issue was with the fuel drain hole location - it was just below the level of the shrunk fabric but I wanted to ensure the fabric adhered to the surrounding fiberglass (didn't want it to later pop up off of the fiberglass and rub on the fitting). On one side I had success but not on the other side. Turns out this was another case of me overthinking the situation and, in the end, I'm pleased with the results and haven't experienced any issues. I'm guessing that the tooling and molds used in the production of the parts and the lack of standardization in the "tooling" and set up us home builders create ensures a lot of variation across the board.

I have the same bulge. Im not worried
