I'm new to the forum and Kitfox aircraft, but not new to aviation. I'm an A & P and have specialized in tube and fabric work on antiques, and aerobatic planes mostly.
I recently looked at a Model 1 for sale locally, and have some concerns. It has one fuel take in one wing, but it appears to have been sealed at some point and the seal material has failed, dried up and flaky. What are the options to repair this, and how hard is it to remove the tank from the wing? The plane has a Blue head 582 with about 100 hour on it with Bing carbs. I haven't flown a 2 stroke, and am a bit nervous about reliability, if anybody has comments on that. The plane overall is in good shape, and the asking price is $13,000. Any tips would be appreciated. Sam in Virginia
