It's starting to look a little like a Super Sport. At least in the tail area. Lots of sanding, fitting, epoxy varnishing and gluing. Just starting on the door frames today.
Phil and Bill flew in today to check on my progress. They had to mix it up with P-51 Mustang in the pattern along with a B-17. Both were selling rides on the other end of the field. Two great sounding aircraft to listen to while sanding, fitting, epoxy varnishing and gluing, ect.

The manual continues to be great. I've completed lots of pages already.

If we look at Rsslr from OZ and Steve we are going need to give both of the new handles. I think Steve from AZ should be Warp Speed, and Rssled from OZ should be Warp 9.5. Any other recommendations? Steve, we know summer in Arizona is coming but you do need to get some sleep! Looking good my friend.

You are going great Steve! I have taken a break! been away, then sick for a couple of weeks and now having vistiors and then to go away again for work next week! ... so, I think you are in a class of your own Steve!! Bye the way, it is hard to tell from the photos, but have you chosen not to put stiffeners in the ribs??

    Keep up the great work!

    cheers

Ross- yes I used stiffeners where called for. Just not maybe the factory ones. I made some that were smaller and less weight but still provided the rigidity needed.

    Steve (AKA Warp Speed)

Ah, I see you are building an “experimental” aircraft! Looking good! Looking art your 1st & 2nd picture I can see them on the Vertical Stabalizer. What are you doing versus the standard stiffeners, or is that Proprietary?

Now that is NOT in the sprit of Team Kitfox!! or is it?......... Paul, I think he is building for speed and not going to disclose his proprietary secrets!

Seriously though, the reason I asked about the stiffeners was that i recall the manual said something like "...add stiffeners at your discretion .." It was recommended by others much more experienced than me to add them everywhere as the fabric shrinking can easily distort the ribs.

But it is looking great Steve.... and you are much more experienced than most.

    cheers

    ross
