    Default Rotax Ignition wire

How do you change the boot around the ignition wire? Mine is a 503 but I think it is the same on most 2 cycles. I guess that is a coil it comes out of. I tried to disconnect the wire from that pack expecting an interference fit similar to the other end on the spark plug, but it seemed permanently attached and I didn't want to pull too hard.

Unscrew the spark plug cap and slide the boot off and put new one on.

Their is what looks like a wood screw in the center of the wire fitting in the coil that the wire screws on to.

yes Tom is correct - lookd like a wood screw inside the cap

you can trim off 1/2 " of wire once off to get better contact assuminjg that you have enought high tension wire.
A little di-electric grease will help the cap slide on better.
