    John,

Thank you for providing your experience with the timer and for the definitive starting sequence. You wouldn't think we could get ourselves in a tizzy about what should be a simple thing. But it's a long way between drilling holes for switches in the console and actually wiring the engine. Sometimes book learning doesn't do.

Email request set for wiring diagram.

I have 300plus hours on the 912is now. I installed using the Kitfox FWF kit for the 912is and used all their switches etc. Yes, you need to read both the Kitfox and Rotax manuals in order to cross reference and understand the system - but it is not difficult. Yes, the Rotax Operations manual needs to be referenced for the start sequence but it is very clear in there. I installe dthe switches along one row to represent the start sequence. The momentary power and start switch is really easy and a 'non-even't really - I have no desire or need to replace it - it is certainly easy and not a 'pain' to use.

I think that the language used to describe the 912is system takes a little getting used to and Rotax does need to make its manual more 'plain english'. EG. I, like others, got confused by the meaning of the' back up battery switch'!

But like the others have said, what a nice engine! starts first time every time - hot, cold whatever!

Good luck and happy to share photos or diagrams if needed.

    cheers
