Default Kitplanes article about non-builder, non A&P wrenching on EAB

Just received my latest Kitplanes magazine tonight and dove right in. In the Ask the DAR page a chap asked a question about a non builder, non A&P working on his aircraft by changing the transponder and torqueing the prop. He asked his question in reference to FAR part 43. In response the DAR said anyone can work on the aircraft but an A&P must do the conditional inspection per part 43.1 (b). Seems to me I read somewhere in the FAR's that there was a restriction on non A&P's doing anything but changing light bulbs, filling fluids, and servicing brake pads. I know I've read it somewhere, but I can't remember where.

Those restrictions would be on certified aircraft.

You're right. I think I read that on a handout from the EAA on Sport Pilot info. That is good news.
