Default Cheap tools - no bargain

About a year ago a trip to Harbor Freight resulted in a purchase of a package of three ball peen hammers. Such a deal. Yesterday I pulled one out to whack a piece of metal into shape. About the third blow i felt something whiz by my ear. The hammer had split in two. Once again confirming that cheap tools are worth exactly what you pay for them.

I finished the job with s Craftsman hammer.

    John,

Glad you didn't get hurt......so much of the stuff sold at HF which SHOULD be made of the correct steel alloy is simply made of junk cast iron....they can make it look good but it isn't...it's just cheap and weak.....In their only defence, many of their tools could make an adequate doorstop!
