    Default Too tall for Kitfox?

Hey, I'm looking to buy a plane when I finish my masters degree in May, and I've been looking pretty hard at a Kitfox. My concern is that I may be too tall for one. I've never sat in a Kitfox before, and I'm having trouble finding exact info on cabin size...which I assume may vary between models. I'm tall but relatively skinny, 6'6" 205 lbs. Can I fit a Kitfox or am I out of luck, just like every time I have to go pants shopping? Anyone have the cabin dimensions for various models?

At 6' 6" you'd be very tight in my model 4. One of the later 5, 6, 7, or SS may fit you better, but everyone is different in what's comfortable for them. I have a friend who is 6' 2" and he is happy in his Avid Flyer which is smaller than my 4!

Your best bet is to try one on. I'm sure there's a Kitfox-er with a newer model in Florida near you that you could hook up with.

I believe in another post John McBean posted a pic of a guy 6'6" who sat in it and subsequently placed his order for the SS7. Can't recall the thread to refer you too. You should talk with him.

I'm 6'3" and thin and have zero issues. A friend of mine who is 6'8" 250 sat in my plane and had head room to spare and wasn't cramped in the legs. He commented that it was much roomier than he thought it would be. Obviously he was a little tight but a guy that tall is ussually really tight in a plane this size. That was a SS7. Best bet is to try to sit in one

From what I have seen it looks like a 7 would be big enough, but for now I'm looking at buying used/already built so I'm curious about previous models.

The fuselage size of the new SS is the same as the 5, 6, and 7.

Cool! Anyone in the Florida panhandle area interested in letting my sit in their Kitfox?
