kitfox lite bungee landing gear

Hi all
I recently bought a kitfox lite and have been getting it back into flying condition. It came with a set of bungee gear struts that were not installed. My question is there any advantage or disadvantage to the bungees over the stock rigid gear that is on the plane currently? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Bungee gear is lighter and will make you a better (and more frustrated) pilot.
I believe the other gear you talk of is "Grove gear" everyone swears by this and cannot speak higher of it.

Personally I fly with the bungee gear and have never known anything different, it is simple, light and works well.. but if the plane doesn't want to land it'll use the bungee gear to tell you that!

If I remember correctly, the Kitfox Lite came with what looks like bungee gear but it has zero suspension.

If this is what you are referring to, the bungees would definitely help you make better landings, but at the sacrifice of a little weight.

Is your Lite currently operating as a part 103 ultralight? Ounces make all the difference to keep a 103 bird legal. If you're not 103, just do it and put them on.
