Flapperon attachments.

I saw an avid flyer on the weekend that was riggded so that the flapperons did not have to be detached from the push - pull tubes when folded. At the time i didnt pay much attention but now my curiostity has got the better of me.
Has any one else seen this configuration, either on a Avid or a Kitfox?

On the Kitfox Model 1, 2, 3 that is the configuration. I'm guessing that with the redesign of the model 4 which included differential mixer along with flaperon horns that are very different from the early models, the linkage knuckle system was not do-able.
