    Default Hall Effect Sensor

How do you secure your Hall effect sensor? Is it supposed to just dangle from the wire?

The instructions I have for mine shows cable ties used to secure the sensor in place and then clear heatshrink over the assembly, once you've got the sensor secured to the wire.

Mine is a large ring with about a 1” hole in it that the wire goes through.

Failing a really BIG bit of shrink wrap how about putting the ensemble in a small box and filling it with that resin stuff? Obviously you would keep the wire touching the inner circumference at some point lest you lose some magnetic wigglies in the resin. Not that it would matter too much as you'll be calibrating the EFIS to read so many wigglies = X Amps, so it doesn't really matter what that number is.

I have a GRT Mini AP and the current sensor has a similar size hole.

I used one of those plastic 2 piece cable fairlead assemblies and held it together with a small spot tie. I used larger spot ties to keep it from sliding around on the wire. Keeps the sensor evenly spaced on the wire too! Do not use the metal ring!!

    Great idea Jeff.

What brand instrument is using this Hall effect sensor for the current reading? I am not a fan of the system that my Dynon uses. I have never been able to get a stable or accurate current/amperage reading.

The "sensor bridge" can be seen in the center of this photo, during the early phase of wiring the Mangy.
