I'm willing to bet a few cups of tea (hot) that your G3 has all that data. Why would you want to clutter up your panel when it's all there for you at the flick of a button?

Like Esser, I know you can configure the MGL stuff to start counting above XXX RPM and I reckon the Garmin product would have the same capability.

You know what Paul, I think that rings a bell. I guess I need to delve into my Garmin manual and make sure that is the case. Thanks

If you are talking about the Garmin G3X, yes it logs engine and flight hours. They are displayed on the bottom of engine page.

I was thinking about installing an old fashioned Hobbs meter, but realized that it really wasn't necessary with the G3X.

Anyone have a pic of their mounted OAT gauge for the GARMIN G3X? I just can't figure out where I would mount this thing. Inside the wing root? Through the top of the windscreen? I don't know.

I mounted my OAT sensor on the belly on the opposite side from the engine exhaust, about halfway back. I kind of wish I hadn't mounted it there. I thought it would be out of the exhaust slipstream, but I think it still catches some warm air from the bottom cowl outlet. It seems to read a little high when I compare readings with flying buddies.

I put my OAT probe at the top rear corner of my battery access cover, which is on the left side of the tail. This keeps the probe out of the sun, which can give false readings on the ground. My AHRS is in the tail mounted to a bracket that I riveted to the antenna mounting plate.

I mounted mine through the fiber-glass vertical ahead of the rudder below the horizontal stab.

I'm installing mine under the left wing in the pitot mounting plate. I'm using Dynon equipment which lets you plug the OAT probe into the remote magnetometer which will be out by the wingtip, so the wiring is easy.
